There's no doubt that my favorite lens is my macro lens. It's also the oldest lens that I use on the regular (it's about 20 years old). I recently purchased a "new" one to replace it....same 20 year old lens, but in mint condition. It has made me realize that my lens was a cranky old man with jittery fine adjustment...but we share many memories. But the "new" lens is oh so sexy. Some photographers get all excited about the latest and greatest equipment. My heart's all pitter patter about this beast of an antique that I've been using forever.

One of my favorite places to do macros of plants is the Oregon Gardens. They have quite a diverse collection of healthy, colorful plants. Surprisingly, this was my first summertime visit. It was well worth it because so much was in bloom! Alas, it was another heatwave day in Oregon. I spent a couple of hours there and captured quite a number of images while also enjoying the relaxing atmosphere of the gardens. Definitely a nice little escape!
